SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – Four Loyola University Maryland golfers had under-par rounds on Tuesday, and the Greyhounds finished fourth as a team at the Babygrande Golf Donald Ross Collegiate.
Jackson Roman brought home his fourth top-10 finish of the 2024-2025 season, tying for eighth out of 100 players at 2-under 214. He shot the Greyhounds' second-best round of the day with a 2-under 70.
Gustavo Rangel posted Loyola's top round Tuesday at 4-under 68 to move up 13 spots on the final day and into a tie for 11
th overall at 1-under.
Overall, the Greyhounds shot 9-under 279 in the final round, the second-best team score behind Chattanooga, which won the tournament after shooting 18-under on Tuesday. Loyola had one of only six under-par rounds during the final 18 out of 20 teams.
The Greyhounds did the majority of their scoring on the Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club's fourth through seventh holes where their five players had 13 birdies out of 20 holes. All five Loyola players birdied both the fifth and sixth holes Tuesday.
Dustin Stocksdale strung together four-straight birdies between the fourth and seventh holes to help him move up 17 spots on the individual leaderboard. He shot 2-under 70 on Tuesday and tied for 33
rd overall.
Mike Crowley finished Tuesday at 1-under 71 and tied for 29
th individually at the tournament.
Garrett Kessler was 1-over in the final round and tied for 59
th.
Loyola's fourth place finish is its seventh top-five finish out of eight tournaments this year. The Greyhounds have finished in the top seven in all of its outings.
The Greyhounds will be off for two weeks before heading to the left coast for The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford March 27-29.
