Women's Lacrosse Puts a 22-Game Home Winning Streak on the Line Against No. 17 Penn on Wednesday

Opening Draw
  • Loyola returns to Ridley for a three-game homestand, starting with No. 17 Penn on Wednesday.
  • The Quakers won both of the two meetings last season, but Loyola won the previous 14 matchups, which dates back to 1993.  
  • This will be the 22nd meeting between the two programs, as Loyola holds the 16-5 edge over the Quakers.
  • In the Preseason Patriot League Poll, Loyola was picked to repeat as Patriot League Champions.     
  • Georgia Latch, Chase Boyle, Lily Osborne, and Lauren Spence all won Preseason major awards from the Patriot League, as they won Preseason Attacker, Midfielder, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Year respectively. 
  • Chase Boyle became the third Greyhound to be named as a Tewaaraton finalist. Joining Grace Gavin and Suzanne Eyler. 
  • Jen Adams is back for her 17th season at the helm of the Greyhounds, as they have compiled a 60-11 record since the beginning of the 2022 season, which includes five NCAA Tournament wins.

Patriot League Preseason honors
  • The Greyhounds were picked to repeat as Patriot League Champions, as Loyola has won a NCAA Division I record 84 straight regular season conference games.
  • Loyola also swept the Preseason Major Awards, as Georgia Latch, Chase Boyle, Lily Osborne, and Lauren Spence all won their respective positional award.

Greyhounds at Home
  • The Greyhounds have thrived at home, as they have posted a 59-2 record at home since the beginning of the 2019 season.
  • They have gone undefeated at home in 2019, 2022, and 2024. 
  • In Jen Adams tenure, the Greyhounds have gone 103-26 at home.
  • Loyola has won each of their last 22 games played at home. 

More on Spence
  • Lauren Spence enters her third season as the starting goalkeeper for the Greyhounds. 
  • In her career, she has posted a 8.30 goals against average, a .479 save percentage, and 359 career saves. 
  • She has also posted a 41-9 record over the past three seasons, as she enters the 2025 season with the fifth most wins in a career, as she is six wins away from the most wins in a career.

Scouting Penn
  • Penn comes into the matchup with a 3-2 (1-0) record on the seson, as they are coming off of a 17-7 win over Dartmouth on Saturday. 
  • The Quakers are 0-2 on the road so far this season, with losses to Johns Hopkins (15-14, OT) and Michigan (15-8). 
  • Through five games, Anna Brandt leads the team with 17 goals, while Catherine Berkery (12) and Keeley Block (10) both have double-digit goals. 
  • Berkery leads the team with 19 points, while Erika Chung leads the team with 12 assists.  
  • In the circle, Maggie Bankowski leads the team with 35 draws, while Natasha Gorriaran has 20 on the season. 
  • In goal, Orly Sedransk has a .439 save percentage, 36 saves, and a 10.71 goals against average. Caitlin Noack has started one game, while appearing in another, while posting a .286 save percentage, 2 saves, and a 6.67 goals against average. 
  • As a team, Penn is averaging 13.6 goals a game, while boasting a .405 shooting percentage.
  • In the Ivy League Preseason Poll, Penn was picked to finish in second place, just behind Yale, as Penn also received two first place votes. 
  • The Greyhounds and Quakers faced off twice last season, including their matchup in the NCAA Second Round, as Penn won both matchups, and was the only team last season to hold Loyola to single-digit goals. 

Record Tracking
  • Chase Boyle comes off of a 2024 season where she broke the single-season program record for goals (85) and draw controls (208)
  • Boyle also broke the Patriot League draw control record, that was set by Jillian Wilson's (198), in 2023. 
  • Boyle is 36 goals shy of becoming the new program career-leader in goals, as well as 116 draw controls from the program record. 
  • Georgia Latch is now two assists shy of having the second most assists in a career, behind only Rosenzweig. She is also just 12 points shy of trailing only Rosenzweig in career points. 
  • In the Greyhounds win over Georgetown, Latch set a new program record with nine assists in the win. The nine assists also ranks fourth most in the Patriot League history.

Dominance From The Circle
  • Loyola enters the game having won the draw battle in each game so far this season.. 
  • The Greyhounds rank fourth in draws per game (18.4) and fifth in draw control percentage (65.5%) in Division I..
  • Chase Boyle ranks 11th in the country in draw controls per game, as she has led the Greyhounds on the draw this season. .
  • Boyle has nearly as many draws herself as opposing teams, as she has 63 draws this season, compared to 68 draws by opposing teams.  
  • Loyola has ranked in the top-ten in draw controls over the past five seasons.
  • Boyle follows in the footsteps of Taryn and Taylor VanThof, Livy Rosenzweig, and Jillian Wilson, who have set a history of excellance at the draw since 2011.   
  • The Greyhounds have relied on a next women up in the circle and have had success with it, in large part due to assistant coach Dana Dobbie, who coaches the draw and is a big reason to their success.
