Opening Draw
  • Loyola concludes their three game homestand on Wednesday, as they host No. 9 Syracuse for another ranked matchup.
  • Syracuse has held the edge in the series, as they have won the last 10 matchups in the series.  
  • Over their past three matchups, Syracuse has won each matchup by within three goals.
  • In the Preseason Patriot League Poll, Loyola was picked to repeat as Patriot League Champions.     
  • Georgia Latch, Chase Boyle, Lily Osborne, and Lauren Spence all won Preseason major awards from the Patriot League, as they won Preseason Attacker, Midfielder, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Year respectively. 
  • Chase Boyle became the third Greyhound to be named as a Tewaaraton finalist. Joining Grace Gavin and Suzanne Eyler. 
  • Jen Adams is back for her 17th season at the helm of the Greyhounds, as they have compiled a 61-12 record since the beginning of the 2022 season, which includes five NCAA Tournament wins.

Patriot League Preseason Honors
  • The Greyhounds were picked to repeat as Patriot League Champions, as Loyola has won a NCAA Division I record 85 straight regular season conference games.
  • Loyola also swept the Preseason Major Awards, as Georgia Latch, Chase Boyle, Lily Osborne, and Lauren Spence all won their respective positioinal award.

Greyhounds at Home
  • The Greyhounds have thrived at home, as they have posted a 60-3 record at home since the beginning of the 2019 season.
  • They have gone undefeated at home in 2019, 2022, and 2024. 
  • In Jen Adams tenure, the Greyhounds have gone 103-27 at home.
  • Prior to the loss to Penn, Loyola won 22-straight home games. 

More on Spence
  • Lauren Spence enters her third season as the starting goalkeeper for the Greyhounds. 
  • In her career, she has posted a 8.32 goals against average, a .484 save percentage, and 383 career saves. 
  • She has also posted a 42-9 record over the past three seasons, as she enters the 2025 season with the fifth most wins in a career, as she is five wins away from the most wins in a career. 
  • Spence has recorded double-digit saves in five of her last six games, her longest streak of double-digit goals in her career. 
  • She is coming off of a career-best 14 saves, while tying a career-best six ground balls, and three caused turnovers against Army. 
  • Spence ranks ninth in career saves in program history (383).  

Scouting Syracuse
  • Syracuse comes into the matchup with a 5-4 (2-2) record on the season and are coming off of a win at Pittsburgh on Saturday. 
  • Prior to Pitt, the Orange were coming off of back-to-back overtime games, as they defeated #7 Stanford in double overtime, before losing to #10 Johns Hopkins in overtime.
  • After starting the season 3-0, Syracuse lost three-straight games to #2 North Carolina, #3 Northwestern, and #14 Clemson. 
  • Emma Ward leads the team in goals (19), assists (22), and points (41) on the season. Emma Muchnick and Caroline Trinkaus rank second and third in goals on the team, with 17 and 15 respectively this season.
  • From the circle, Meghan Rode leads the team with 28 draws, while Joely Caramelli has 27 draws on the season. 
  • In goal, Daniella Guyette has started each game, as she has posted a .467 save percentage, a 10.93 goals against average, and 86 total saves. 
  • The Orange have been without Preseason All-American Olivia Adamson, who played in the first three games of the season before suffering a season-ending injury. 
  • In their last trip to Baltimore, it was a defensive battle between Syracuse and Loyola, as the Orange edged out the Greyhounds, 9-7. 

Record Tracking
  • Chase Boyle comes off of a 2024 season where she broke the single-season program record for goals (85) and draw controls (208)
  • Boyle also broke the Patriot League draw control record, that was set by Jillian Wilson's (198), in 2023. 
  • Boyle is 30 goals shy of becoming the new program career-leader in goals, as well as 94 draw controls from the program record. 
  • Georgia Latch now sits at second in program history in assists, with 152, trailing only Livy Rosenzweig, who finished with 230. She is also just 1 point shy of trailing only Rosenzweig in career points. She currently sits in third with 317 career points. 
  • In the Greyhounds win over Georgetown, Latch set a new program record with nine assists in the win. 

Dominance From The Circle
  • Loyola enters the game having won the draw battle in each game so far this season.. 
  • The Greyhounds rank third in draws per game (18.0) and second in draw control percentage (66.1%) in Division I..
  • Chase Boyle ranks 9th in the country in draw controls per game, as she has led the Greyhounds on the draw this season. .
  • Boyle has more draws than the Greyhounds opponents this season, as she has 85 draws this season, compared to 83 draws by opposing teams.  
  • Loyola has ranked in the top-ten in draw controls over the past five seasons.
  • Boyle follows in the footsteps of Taryn and Taylor VanThof, Livy Rosenzweig, and Jillian Wilson, who have set a history of excellance at the draw since 2011.   
  • The Greyhounds have relied on a next women up in the circle and have had success with it, in large part due to assistant coach Dana Dobbie, who coaches the draw and is a big reason to their success.
