LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell swept the visiting Loyola University Maryland tennis teams on Satuday, topping the Greyhounds women, 6-1, and the men, 7-0.
Jocelyn Assael and
Emi Shivkumar teamed for a 6-0 win against Caroline Marcus and Riley Jennings at No. 3 doubles, but the Bison won the No. 1 and 2 matches.
Whitney King and Abby Platt took a 6-3 decision from Loyola's
Lauren Manwiller and
Emma Roeck at No. 1, and Anna Lajos paired with Jaycie Mair for a 7-5 victory against
Jessica Bodewes and
Christine Richiez at No. 2.
Emma Roeck scored a three-set win for the Greyhounds at No. 5 singles to score Loyola's point. She beat Mair, 4-6, 6-4, (10-5).
King topped Richiez, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 1, and Platt got past Loyola's
Elena Hartley, 6-1, 6-1, at NO. 2. Lajos defeated the Greyhounds
Mia Matriccino, 6-4, 7-5, at No. 3, and Tori Allen was a 6-3, 6-4 winner against Manwiller at No. 4. Jennings used a super-tiebreaker in the third for a 6-2, 6-7 (5), 10-5, victory against Bodewes at No. 6.
In the men's match, Bucknell won all three doubles matches and the six singles contests.
Amar Tahirovic and Brendan McDonald defeated
Noah Castillo and
Ryan Gill, 6-1, at No. 1 doubles, while Oscar Bain Moreno de Vega and Adam Stavrakas were 6-3 winners aginast
George Cavo and
Cristian Pemueller at No. 2. Liam Kilmer and Will Robinson topped
Nick Lawliss and
Harry Zeiders, 6-3, at No. 3.
Tahirovic beat Castillo, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 singles, and Stavrakas bested Gill, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2. Kilmer downed
Blake Edwards, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 3, and Bain Moreno de Vega outlasted Cavo, 6-3, 3-6, 10-6, at No. 4.
McDonald defeated Zeiders, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 5, and Shiv Singh was a 6-1, 6-1 winner against Pemueller at No. 6.
