BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Loyola University Maryland senior Milos Ilic was named the Patriot League Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Wednesday, highlighting his accomplishments on the court and in the classroom.

Ilic was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team on Monday after finishing the regular season leading the Greyhounds in points, rebounds and assists. On Tuesday night, he helped lead the Greyhounds to a win in the Patriot League Championships First Round, scoring 17 points and grabbing nine rebounds against Lehigh.

The forward from Gornji Milanovic, Serbia, is slated to graduate in May 2025 with his bachelor's degree in information systems and data analytics. He entered the spring semester with a grade-point average of 3.578.

He has started all 30 games during the regular season and entered the Patriot League Championships ranked third in double doubles (7), fourth in rebounds per game (7.5), eighth in the Patriot League in points per game (14.4) and field-goal percentage (.532) and 11th in assists per game (3.0).

He is the only player in the Patriot League to lead his team in points, rebounds and assists per game this season.

During his junior season, Ilic averaged 7.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, shooting 48.1 percent from the field while averaging 25.8 minutes per game. This year, his minutes per game increased by just 0.9 per game to 26.9, but his points per game went up by more than 47 percent (14.4 from 7.6).

Ilic is the eighth Loyola player to earn Academic All-Patriot League honors since the Greyhounds joined the conference in 2013-14. He is the second Loyola men's basketball player to be named Scholar-Athlete of the Year, joining Franz Rassman who was honored in 2016.

The Greyhounds will continue postseason play on Thursday, March 6, with a 7 p.m. game at Bucknell in the Patriot League Championships Quarterfinals.
