Bethlehem -- The Patriot League announced their All-League teams and their major awards on Monday morning, as the Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse team earned five major awards and seven players named to the All-League teams.
Georga Latch was named Attacker of the Year,
Chase Boyle named Midfielder of the Year,
Lily Osborne named Defensive Player of the Year,
Lauren Spence named Goalkeeper of the Year, and
Jen Adams was named Coach of the Year.
Elisa Faklaris joined Latch, Boyle, Osborne, and Spence on the First Team All-League, while
Mim Suares-Jury and
Ellie Rinehart were each named to the Second Team.
Latch leads the Patriot League in points (104) and assists (59), while ranking third in Division I in each category. Latch has also scored 45 goals on the season, as she has scored six or more points in 10 games this season, including in each of the last four games. Latch has also played a key role in the top-ranked draw control unit, as she has 84 draw controls on the season. Latch has climbed the Loyola record books during the season, as she now ranks second in assists and points in program history. She enters the Patriot League tournament five points shy of becoming the second leading scorer in Patriot League history.
Boyle is named Midfielder of the Year for the second straight year, as she leads the Patriot League with 64 goals on the season, which ranks 10th in Division I. Boyle also leads the Greyhounds top-ranked draw control unit, as Loyola boasts a 72.4 percent draw control percentage and are averaging 21.12 draws per game, which both rank first in Division I. Boyle ranks sixth in Division I and second in the Patriot League in draw controls per game, as she is averaging 10.8 draws per game. Boyle has recorded double-digit draws in 13 games this season, including 9 of the last 10 games. Boyle has also scored a hat-trick in 12 games this season. In the regular season finale, Boyle broke the Loyola career record for goals (230) and draw controls (456).
Osborne is named the Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, as she has anchored the Greyhounds defense that has allowed a Patriot League best 8.4 goals per game in conference play. Osborne leads the team with 25 caused turnovers and ranks second on the team with 31 ground balls on the season. Osborne has also been a key piece in the Greyhounds top ranked draw control unit, as she ranks third on the team with 71 draw controls on the season. Osborne has drawn a matchup in each game this season, holding her matchup to three points or less in 12 games this season.
Spence earned her second Goalkeeper of the Year award, as she boasted a 12-5 record, a .473 save percentage, a 10.18 goals against average, and 139 saves on the season. She has recorded double-digit saves in six games this season, including four coming against ranked opponents. Spence leads the team with 38 ground balls while also posting a career-best 10 caused turnovers. She led the Patriot League with a 7.32 goals against average in Patriot League play and a .551 save percentage. Spence ranks 18th in Division I with a .473 save percentage on the season.
Faklaris earns her first Patriot League All-League honor, as she was named to the First Team after posting a career-best 45 goals on the season. She is tied with Latch for second on the team in goals, while ranking seventh in the Patriot League in goals. She leads the Patriot League and ranks second in Division I with a .652 shooting percentage on the season. She has also posted a career-best 8 assists and 53 points on the season, while adding 17 ground balls and six caused turnovers.
Suares-Jury had a strong season for Loyola in her freshman campaign, as she posted 25 goals, 7 assists, and 32 points, while also adding 23 ground balls, 14 caused turnovers, and 15 draw controls. She ranked fourth on the team in goals, while ranking third in ground balls and caused turnovers in the regular season. She had multiple goals in 8 games, as she has scored a goal in 8 straight games.
Rinehart was a key piece on the Greyhounds backline, as she earned her first All-League honor. Loyola's defense ranked first in the Patriot League during conference play with a 8.38 goals against average. She drew a matchup in 11 games this season, holding six of her matchups to two points or less on the season. She also added 12 ground balls and eight caused turnovers on the season.
Adams earns her sixth Patriot League Coach of the Year and her first since 2019, as she has led the Greyhounds to a 12-5 (9-0) record in her 17th season at the helm. Adams has led Loyola to their 10th straight undefeated conference record, as Loyola has a NCAA record 93-straight regular season conference wins. She has coached the top-ranked draw control unit in the country, as one of the top offenses in Division I.
