Women's Lacrosse to Face Stony Brook University in NCAA First Round

BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland's women's lacrosse team learned Sunday night it will be heading to Boston College for the opening rounds in the 2025 NCAA Championships, as second-seeded Boston College, will host the first two rounds. 


The Greyhounds will square off against Stony Brook University in the first round on Friday, May 9, Boston College's Alumni Stadium in a 4:00 p.m. game. Boston College will have a bye in the first round, as the top three seeds receive a bye. 

Loyola enters the NCAA Championships with a 13-6 record, runners up of the Patriot League Championship and Patriot League Regular Season Champions, have won eight of their last nine games. Stony Brook won the CAA after beating Drexel 12-10 in the Championship game. 

This will be the program's 26th NCAA appearance, 12th under Head Coach Jen Adams and seventh in a row (not including the non-contested 2020 Championships). Last year, Loyola faced Duke in the first round before falling to eighth-seed Penn in the second round.. 

Stony Brook finished the regular season with a 15-4 record, and were CAA regular season and postseason Champions. Boston College finished the season with a 17-2 overall record, as they fell to North Carolina in the ACC Championship game, as North Carolina was both of Boston College's losses. Loyola opened the season against Boston College, as the Eagles won 21-7 in Boston.
