BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland volleyball will play in three early-season tournaments before starting its 13
th season in the Patriot League in September.
The Greyhounds are set to open the 2025 season at the Buc Dome Invitational, hosted by Charleston Southern University, and they will play the host Buccaneers in the year's first match on August 29.
Loyola will then play neutral-site matches against The Citadel and IU Indy at the tournament before moving on to its second weekend of the year.
That will take the Greyhounds to the Pittsburgh area where they will play in the Chick-Fil-A Robinson Classic, hosted by Duquesne and Robert Morris. Loyola will first face the Dukes on September 5 before traveling across the region for a match at the Colonials later that night. A Saturday on September 6 against Fairleigh Dickinson will wrap up the tournament for the Greyhounds.
Loyola's tournament schedule will end the following with the Battle of the Beltways, a tournament featuring several teams from the Baltimore and Washington D.C. area.
The Greyhounds make their home debut as a part of the tournament, hosting Georgetown in a 6 p.m. match on Friday, September 12. They will then head to George Washington and George Mason the following two days for their last non-conference matches of the year.
Patriot League play commences on September 19 when Loyola hosts Holy Cross, the first of four-straight conference contests in Reitz Arena. Colgate visits the following day, and Loyola then hosts Navy on September 27 and American on September 28.
The Patriot League plays a double round-robin schedule with each team playing the other eight home and away.
Loyola will also have home matches against Army West Point (October 19), Bucknell (October 24), Lafayette (October 25) and Lehigh (November 15).
The six-team Patriot League Championships begin November 18 with the quarterfinal round at the No. 3 and 4 seeds from the conference's regular-season. The semifinals and final will be hosted by the regular-season champion November 21 and 23.
