BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland volleyball won the first set Saturday against defending Patriot League Champion Colgate, but the Raiders won the next three for a 22-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-18 conference win in Reitz Arena.
Morgan Crawford and
Kacy Sekunda combined for nine kills in the first set while the Greyhounds had 14 kills to the Raiders' 10, but Colgate committed just eight hitting errors the rest of the match while taking the win.
Colgate hit .239 overall while holding Loyola to a .102 clip.
Kacy Sekunda had a triple-double for the second match in a row, and the fourth time this season, with 11 kills, 13 assists and 13 digs, and
Ava Nepkin posted 10 kills. Crawford added nine,
Addie Lowe put away eight and both
Ellie Joffe and
Elsie Afful tallied five.
Addie Huber picked up a team-high 17 digs, while Nepkin also had a double-double adding 12 digs.
Joffe was in on four blocks during the match, but Colgate recorded 13 blocks to the Greyhounds' five.
Loyola will play its next two in Reitz Arena, hosting Navy on Saturday, September 27, before facing American at home the next day.
