The Matchup
  • The Greyhounds will travel up to Boston on Saturday afternoon, as they are set to face Boston in a Patriot League Matchup. 
  • This will be the 23rd meeting between the two programs, as Boston holds a 15-7 edge, including winning two matchups last season, including a win in the Patriot League First Round.

  • Loyola features an experienced squad this year, as Loyola features nine upperclassmen on the roster, combining to play over 500 career games.  
  • The Greyhounds will face all but two Division I teams in the state of Maryland this season, starting with #10 Maryland.
  • The Greyhounds have won five of their last seven games, with three of their last four wins coming after trailing in the fourth quarter.    

Non-Conference Recap
  • Non-conference play opened with No. 10 Maryland, where they fell 80-26.
  • Loyola then hosted La Salle for their home opener, but fell 71-59. Loyola began a two-game trip where they lost to Virginia Tech 64-48, before losing to Radord 59-50.
  • The Greyhounds remained on the road to take on Drexel in Philadelphia, where they fell 66-57, before returning home to face Mount St. Mary's, losing 69-50.
  • Loyola then traveled to Yale on November 23, winning 73-48. They headed into Thanksgiving with a home matchup against Delaware, losing 67-55.
  • The Greyhounds wrap up non-conference play with a trio of local opponents: earning comeback wins over Towson, UMBC, and Morgan State to close out non-conference play.

Scouting Boston
  • Boston comes into the matchup with a 5-11 (1-4) record on the season, as they are coming off of a 68-64 win over Lehigh on Wednesday evening. 
  • On the season, Boston is averaging 57.7 points on 43.1 percent shooting, while allowing 60.8 points on 38.3 percent shooting. 
  • Anete Adler leads the team in scoring this season, averaging 13.6 points per game. She has scored in double digits in all put three games this season, as she is coming off of a 15 point game in the win over Lehigh. 
  • Coming into the season, Boston was picked to finish in eighth place in the Patriot League Preseason Poll. 

Building Momentum
  • After a tough start to the season, the Greyhounds have won seven of their last ten games. 
  • Loyola has begun to find more consistency on the offensive end, as they have shot 40 percent or better from the field in eight of their last 13 games. 
  • In their win over Towson, the Greyhounds tallied a season-best 17 offensive rebounds, 50 total rebounds, a .857 free throw percentage (18-21), and their first overtime win of the season.
  • Lex Therien has scored at least 20 points in seven of her last eleven games games for the Greyhounds.

More On Therien
  • In seven career games against the Terriers, Lex Therien is averaging 11.1 points and 9.5 rebounds, including three double-doubles in those seven games.
  • Therien is averaging a career-best 16.8 points per game this season, while shooting 52.7 percent from the field and a career-best 73.8 percent from the foul line. 
  • Therien has continued to climb the record books this season, as she is just 53 rebounds away from breaking the Patriot League record and is 59 rebounds away from breaking the Loyola rebounds record. 
  • Therien also now ranks second in career points at Loyola, while she is currently 12th in career points in Patriot League history, 95 points away from breaking into the top-10. 
  • She will become just the fifth player to rank in the top-10 in both points and rebounds in Patriot League history. 
  • In the Greyhounds win over Yale, Therien recorded her 50th career double-double. She now sits at 54 career double-doubles, second most among active players in Division I.
