CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico –
Gustavo Rangel led the Loyola University Maryland golf team with an even-par 71 on Sunday as the Greyhounds opened play at the Cabo Collegiate.
The Greyhounds are 16-over as a team through the first 18 of 36 holes; they are in 15th place, a shot back of UC Santa Barbara and two behind Houston in the field that includes 10 teams ranked in the nation's top 40.
Rangel is tied for 25th after the first day at the Twin Dolphin Club.
Jackson Roman and
Eli Spaulding shot 5-over 76 and are tied for 60th, while
Lorenzo Sanz was a shot back and is tied for 69th.
Liam Moloney is 79th after shooting 10-over in his first round.
Play at the tournament will continue Monday with an 18-hole shotgun start in the morning.
