CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –
Diego Neira shot rounds of 2-under and 2-over on Monday to lead the Loyola University Maryland golf team through 36 holes at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial.
Neira played his final 13 holes of the first round at 3-under par to finish the opening 18 at 2-under 69, and he finished his day level after a 2-over 73 in the second round at Birdwood Golf Club.
He is tied for 26th and leads the Greyhounds, who are 12th as a team, heading into the Tuesday's final round.
Jack Geyer had nine-straight pars to open his day, and he later birdied the 18th hole in his first round to finish the stretch at even-par 71. He came back in the second round and again parred all nine holes on the front, finishing the second round 2-over. He is tied for 40th overall.
Lorenzo Sanz shot 73-76 and is tied for 60th, while
Eli Spaulding and
Jackson Roman are tied for 66th after rounds of 75-76.
The final round will start at 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
