WEST POINT, N.Y. – Five Loyola University Maryland golfers are tied for 11th or better after 18 holes, and the Greyhounds are one shot off the team lead at the Patriot League Championships.
Diego Neira and
Jackson Roman shot 3-over 73 and are tied for eighth, while
Eli Spaulding,
Liam Moloney,
Jack Geyer all are a shot back and tied for 11th after the first day.
Neira birdied his last two holes, while Spaulding, Moloney and Geyer all birdied 18 to get to their final numbers. Neira shot 1-under 34 on the back nine after making the turn at 4-over through nine.
The Greyhounds shot 13-over 294 in the first round and are one shot back of host Army West Point and Navy.
Play is slated to resume Saturday with the final round. Loyola is due to tee off in threesomes with the co-leaders starting at 10 a.m.
