WEST POINT, N.Y. – A 3-0 run to end the first quarter gave Army West Point a 6-2 lead heading into the second, and after Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse got within a pair, the Black Knights scored the next six to take control of a 14-7 win in the Patriot League Championship Game at Michie Stadium.
Kenan Everhart scored a pair of goals to start the second quarter, first off a
Connor Wilbur and then on a
Mason Cook feed, to pull the Greyhounds (10-5 overall) within two, 6-4, with 9:05 left in the frame.
Army West Point, however, got an unassisted goal by Evan Plunkett with 6:24 on the clock, starting a 6-0 run that would stretch until there were less than eight minutes to go in the third quarter.
Gunnar Fellows gave the Black Knights (13-3) a 12-4 lead with 7:58 left in the third before Everhart broke the run with a goal off another Wilbur assist at 7:07.
Everhart was one of three Loyola players to be named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team, joining
Mason Cook and
Max Watkinson.
After Everhart's goal, however, Brayden Fountain and Cal Lambert scored for the Black Knights before Will McClulloch and
Henry Haberman scored late for the Greyhounds.
Everhart finished with a team-high three goals, while Cook had a goal and two assists.
Cook finished his 2026 season with 59 goals, one shy of tying the school single-season record for goals in a year.
Wilbur had two assists, and Haberman had a goal and an assist.
Watkinson made nine saves in goal for the Greyhounds, and Matt Everson had three caused turnovers defensively.
