Murphy and Suares-Jury Earn USA Lacrosse All-American Honors

Baltimore -- USA Lacrosse announced their All-American teams on Thursday afternoon, as Loyola University Maryland placed two players on the All-American teams.

Mae Murphy was named to the First Team, while Mim Suares-Jury was named to the Honorable Mention Team.

Murphy was the lone freshman named to the First Team, as she ranks first in the country in draw controls (230) and draws per game (12.1). Murphy has had a historic freshman campaign so far for the Greyhounds, as she broke the Loyola single-season draw control record, recently held by Chase Boyle ('25, 210). She also broke the Division I, Patriot League, and Loyola single-season record for draws by a freshman. Murphy has led Loyola to be the top-ranked draw unit in the country, as Loyola has a 66.7 draw percentage and 17.1 draws per game. She also enters Friday's game sitting seven draws shy of breaking the Patriot League single-season record. Along with her draw prowess, Murphy has also added 12 caused turnovers and 9 ground balls.

Suares-Jury earns her first All-American nod, after the sophomore midfielder once again had a strong season for the Greyhounds. She totaled 34 goals, 21 assists, 23 ground balls, 9 caused turnovers, and 52 draw controls on the season. She was also named to the Patriot League First Team this season. She also played a key role on the Greyhounds transition and defensive game on the season.
