ANNAPOLIS, Md. –
Fayola Allison and Mikey Brynes finished 26th and 27th, respectively, for the Loyola University Maryland women's and men's cross country teams on Saturday morning, leading the Greyhounds at the U.S. Naval Academy's Cantello Invitational.
Both teams logged fourth-place finishes at the event held on the USNA Golf Course.
Allison covered the 6,000-meter course in 23:24.0, while Byrnes led the men through their 4.9-mile race in 26:04.5.
Nate Tibbetts finished 34th for the men in 26:59.5, two spots in front of
Nick Paganelli who ran 27:10.1.
Jack Arrington was five seconds and one spot back of Paganelli, running 27:15.7.
Cal Lipkin came through the finish line in 39th in 27:34.4, rounding out the Greyhounds' scoring, while
Christian Zawislack ran 27:57.4 for 41st and
Ethan Halpern finished in 28:11.8 for 42nd as Loyola's sixth and seventh runners.
Andrew Robinson (43rd, 28:17.5),
Logan Eagles (44th, 28:30.0), Brennan Hilland (45th, 28:34.9),
Drew Peters (46th, 28:35.7) and
Tucker Dalton (47th, 29:00.1) completed the Greyhounds' contingent at the meet.
A pair of first-year runners were the first two across the line for Loyola's women with
Amelia Waggoner joining Allison. Waggoner ran 23:40.6 for 31st.
Kayla Hayes was close behind in 33rd pl24:06.5ace (23:48.5), a place head of
Emma Hagstrom who ran 23:59.2.
Jackie Mattos finished 36th in 24:06.5, and she was followed by Abby Arseneau (28th, 24:34.0) and
Tilly Dettling (40th, 25:08.3).
Calista Nephew (41st, 25:11.3) and
Maya Hennessey (42nd, 25:34.5) rounded out Loyola's runners.
