Diego Neira and
Eli Spaulding combined to birdie seven of their last 12 holes on Tuesday at the RedHawk Invitational, lifting Loyola University Maryland's golf team to a fifth-place team finish in its first event of the 2026-2027 season.
Spaulding had four-consecutive birdies on his 13th through 16th holes of the final round after playing his first 12 holes at 3-over par.
His finish moved him to 1-under for the final round and 7-under in the tournament to finish tied for third as an individual.
Neira birdied three of his last six holes to finish with a final-round 3-under 68, his best round of the tournament.
He moved up from a tie for 61st after the second round to a tie for 30th at the completion of the 54-hole event at Pittsburgh Field Club.
Lorenzo Sanz and
Jack Geyer shot matching 3-over 74s on Tuesday and tied for 37th in the tournament at 4-over.
Liam Moloney also finished with a 74 in the final round and tied for 48th at 6-over.
Zach Berger played as an individual and was 2-over 73 on Tuesday, tying for 75th at 16-over.
