2018 (Junior): Appeared in three games… Made his season debut against Lafayette (2/25) and scored on his only shot of the season… Picked up a ground ball against Boston University (4/14).
2017 (Sophomore): Drew more playing time as the year progressed, seeing action in seight games while scoring a pair of goals on five shots… Made his collegiate lacrosse debut with a goal on two shots at Lafayette (2/25)… Tallied another goal against Navy (3/4)… Played in both Patriot League Championships contests against Holy Cross (4/28) and Army West Point (4/30).
2015-2016 (Freshman at Siena College): Did not play lacrosse, but was a member of the Saints’ men’s basketball team as a walk-on for former Loyola head coach Jimmy Patsos… Saw action in 10 games and averaged 1.2 points… Made 10-of-12 free throws for Siena.
Before Loyola: Was a standout in both lacrosse and basketball at West Genesee High School in Fairmount, New York… Earned All-League First Team honors in lacrosse and Second Team recognition in basketball as a senior (2014-2015)… Scored 50 goals and tallied 19 assists that season while leading the Wildcats to the league, Section 3 and region titles, as well as a New York State runner-up finish… Was also a scholar-athlete for both basketball and lacrosse… Scored 14 goals and had 13 assists as a junior in 2013-2014… As a basketball player for the Wildcats, averaged 17.9 points and 4.1 assists in 2014-2015 and 13.1 points and 4.0 assists the year prior.
Personal: Nicholas Gordon Cunningham… His older brother, Jimmy, is a member of the men’s lacrosse team at Providence College as a starting defenseman… Grandfather, Jim Cunningham, scored 1,744 points in three seasons at Fordham University and was a third-round draft pick of the Boston Celtics in 1958… Member of the honor roll each semester in high school.
