Jordyn Pugh

A familiar face joined the Loyola University Maryland cross country and track and field coaching staff in the fall of 2021 as alumna Jordyn Pugh has been named an assistant coach for the Greyhounds.
 
Pugh graduated from Loyola in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in bio-psychology interdisciplinary.

She holds USTFCCCA certificates as a strength and conditioning coach and an endurance event specialist.
 
A varsity runner for the Greyhounds since 2017, Pugh competed in cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field for Loyola. She was a team captain during the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons, as well.
 
She had a career-best 800-meter time of 2:16.27 in 2020, a week after she ran 5:17.77 for a personal-best in the mile. She was a member of the Greyhounds’ 4x800 meter relay team that placed second at the 2020 Indoor Patriot League Championships and fourth at 2021 Outdoor Championships. 
 
In the corporate world, Pugh has worked for Adatos AI, an artificial intelligence firm out of Singapore that focuses on research and development in the agriculture industry. She was a research assistant on a project to develop lactose and dairy-free “milk” from yeast cells, analyzing existing data on food disparities that occur in South Asia.
 
She has also worked for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, organizing and planning camps in the Mid-Atlantic area, as well as overseas in Malaysia and the Philippines for children 7-18.
 
At Loyola as an undergraduate, Pugh participated in a number of service and leadership activities, including attending the 2020 Naval Academy Leadership Conference and also participating for three years in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee; leading as the Service Coordinator for the executive board. Pugh was also a member of the Loyola Leadership Academy, and she was a guest speaker at the 2020 Remarkable Girls Conference.
 
She served in a roles as a volunteer with FCA, as well as Living Classrooms.
 
Pugh also earned several academic achievements at Loyola, being recognized five times on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and the Loyola Dean’s List three times.
