2025 (Junior): Led the Greyhounds across the line in four of six meets on the year… Opened the season with a sixth-place finish (54 competitors, top Greyhound finisher) in the 4-mile Temple Owls Invitational, posting a personal-best mark of 20:34.20... Loyola’s No. 2 finisher at the Cantello Invitational and the Paul Short Run… Led Loyola at the Panorama Farms Invitational at UVa., coming in at the midpoint of a strong field… In the post-season, took the Greyhounds’ top spot in the Patriot League and NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships… Finished in 97th place at NCAA Regional meet - in the top half of the field – and lowered his previous best 10K time by over 1 minute, 20 seconds (31:48.6). 

2024 (Sophomore): Set a personal best in the 6k at 19:03 in the Lafayette Invitational opener… The Greyhounds’ No. 2 finisher in that meet and placed 21st of 91 runners… The third Greyhound and 74th runner overall to cross the tape (26:07.1) at the Paul Short Invitational, out of a field of 313… Helped the squad to an outstanding tenth place finish (of 38 teams) in the College Brown race, besting Lafayette and Holy Cross…  Set a season-best 8k time at the Panorama Farms Invitational (25:51.0), repeating as the Hounds’ No. 3 finisher… Loyola’s No. 2 finisher at the Patriot League Championships and NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Region Championships, setting a 10k personal mark (32:45.3) at Penn State.   

2023 (Freshman): Made his collegiate debut and was 15th at the Baltimore Metro Meet in 16:01.1... Finished 27th in 26:33.5 at the Navy Cross Country Invitational... Took 134th at the Griak Invitational in 27:04.2... Was 45th in 26:31.7 as Loyola's No. 2 finisher in 45th at the Patriot League Championships... Also was the team's No. 2 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, running 33:09.1 for 142nd.

Before Loyola: Graduated from Wilton High School where he lettered in cross country and track and field... Earned the Wilton Track Association Scholarship for athletic accomplishments, leadership and commitment... Helped his team win the Class MM State Championship... Named to the All-State First Team and received All-Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (FCIAC) First Team honors... Received the cross country team's Leadership Award in 2022 and was named the Most Valuable Player in 2021 and Rookie of the Year in 2019.

Personal: Son of Kerry and Sean Byrnes... Has three siblings, Lilly, Abbey and Will... Received Wilton's Melissa McFadden Scholarship, an honor given to a graduating senior who shows compassion, dedication and the desire to improve the lives of individuals with intellectual and physical challenges.
