2024 (Sophomore): Saw action in a pair of early season meets… Ran a personal best time of 20:15.7 in the 6k at the Lafayette Invitational… Also competed in the Harry Grove Spiked Shoe Invitational the following week.
2023 (Freshman): Made his Loyola debut at the Baltimore Metro Meet and was 39th... Finished 29th at the Navy Cross Country Invitational... Ran 29:23.8 and was 94th in the open race at the IC4A/ECAC Championships.
Before Loyola: Graduated from Mount Olive High School where he competed in cross country, track and field and swimming & diving… Earned All-County First Team honors as a junior in cross country and was a four-time All-Conference honoree in both cross country and track & field… Helped his cross country team win the conference title in 2022.
Personal: Son of Michelle and Mark Melendez… Has two siblings, Katelyn and Justyn.
