Biography

2020-2021 (Sophomore): NABC All-District XIII First Team… All-Patriot League First Team and Academic All-Patriot League.. One of two qualified players in NCAA Division I to average more than 20 points and 10 rebounds per game… Averaged 21.2 points and 10.1 rebounds while starting all 17 of Loyola’s games… Shot 51.3 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from 3-point range… Second in the Patriot League in points per game, first in rebounds… Became the first player in Patriot League history to average 20 and 10 in a season… Was the only player in NCAA Division I to average more than 18 points, eight rebounds, two assists and 1.5 blocks per game… Finished 12th in Division I in points per game, 14th in rebounds per game and fifth in defensive rebounds per game (8.29)… Scored a career-high and Patriot League Semifinal record 33 points in the win at Army West Point, grabbing 12 rebounds in the process... Made 13 of 16 shots, 5 of 6 from 3-point range... Had 15 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in the Patriot League Quarterfinal win over Navy... Scored 27 points, making 10 of 12 free throws, at home against Navy on Feb. 27... Followed with 21 points the next day against the Mids... Had 24 points and 15 rebounds against Lehigh at home... Scored 27 points in just 23 minutes at Lehigh... Also had a career-high four blocks in the game... Earned his second-straight Patriot League Player of the Week honor on February 16 after he scored 30 points and tied a Patriot League record with 22 rebounds at Lafayette on Feb. 13... His rebound total set a new school record... He became the first player in school history with a 20-20 game, and the second in conference history with a 30-20 outing... A day later, he had 19 points and nine rebounds against the Leopards... Named the Patriot League Player of the Week on February 9... A day earlier, had his second-straight double-double with a career-high 30 points along with 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots... Had his third double-double of the year with 21 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks against Lafayette on February 7... Posted his second-straight double-double with 20 points, 12 rebounds against American at home... Had his third career double-double at American with a to-date career-high 25 points and 10 rebounds... Scored 22 points and had seven boards and four assists against Lafayette at home, shooting 9 of 12 from the field.

2019-2020 (Freshman): Named to the Patriot League All-Rookie Team... Missed the first 22 games of the season with an injury, but made his debut on February 1… Played in 10 games and averaged 15.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.7 blocks and 0.9 steals per game… Scored a to-date career-high of 23 points in the Patriot League Championships at Lehigh, going 11 of 20 from the field… Also had nine rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocked shots in the game… Earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week recognition for the third time in four weeks after the Navy and Lehigh games... Scored 20 and had eight boards against Lehigh... Had his second-straight double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds at Navy... Earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors for the second time following the Lafayette and Army West Point games... Posted his first collegiate double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds at Lafayette... Had 13 points, five rebounds and two blocks against Army West Point... Made 5 of 10 from 3-point range and scored 22 points to go with eight rebounds, two blocks and three assists against Colgate... Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week on February 10 after averaging 11 points and 7.5 rebounds against Bucknell and Holy Cross... Had 11 points, seven boards and two blocked shots against the Bison... Scored 11 and had a game-high eight rebounds at Holy Cross... Missed the first 22 games of the season with an injury before making his debut on February 1 against Navy... Scored 11 points, had three assists and a blocked shot in just 17 minutes against the Midshipmen.

Before Loyola: Named Most Valuable Player of the FIBA U-18 European Championships in 2019 after leading Spain to the gold medal… Ended the seven-game tournament by leading all players in efficiency per game, at 22.9, while he had the highest plus-minus (points scored by a player's team over his opponent while in the game) at +141 (+20.1 per game)… Was the championship's third-leading scorer with 126 points, 18.0 per contest, while he was ninth with 7.6 rebounds per game, third in blocked shots at 2.3 per game, 14th in steals (1.9) and 16th with 2.6 assists… Scored 23 points in the championship game against Turkey for his fourth-straight game with 19 or more points all in elimination play… Member of the Spanish National Age-Group Teams since he was 14… During 2017-18, averaged 15.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game for the Spanish National U-18 Team in games preparing for the European Championships... Participated in the 2016 European Championships at the U16 level, the La Amistad International Tournament in 2015 as a U15 and the BAM International Tournament for the U14 club… Has also played club for Canterbury Academy as he has graduated from the Canterbury School in Las Palmas… That team finished third in the Spanish National U16 Championships, and he was the 3-point contest champion at two tournaments, the Orotava International U16 and the Tenerife International U18… Participated in the NBA Academy Europe in Serbia during 2018.
 
Personal: Santiago Aldema Toledo… Son of María Isabel Toledo Jiménez and Santiago Aldama Alesón… His father was a professional basketball player in Spain and Portugal and longtime member of the Spanish National Team… Played in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona for Spain… His uncle, Santiago Toledo, was a professional basketball player, as well, in Spain, Italy and Portugal.
