Lanier comes to the Greyhounds as a noted recruiter and floor coach with more than 25 years of experience in collegiate coaching.

Most recently, Lanier was a member of the staff at Rutgers University where he helped the Scarlet Knights reach the NCAA Tournament in 2020 (canceled due to COVID) and 2021. At the Piscataway, New Jersey, school, Lanier oversaw the recruiting efforts of a class which was ranked No. 5 in the nation by Blue Star Basketball, No. 8 by ESPN and unanimously No. 1 in the Big Ten.

Lanier spent the 2018-19 season in State College, Pennsylvania as the recruiting coordinator and assistant coach at Penn State University, helping to secure a class that was ranked No. 12 nationally by recruiting publications.
