Jenna Bracken has joined the Loyola women’s soccer program as an assistant coach in April 2022, coming to the Greyhounds program after spending the last two seasons at Wagner College.
Bracken, a former NCAA Division II All-American goalkeeper at Kutztown University, will work with the Greyhounds goalkeepers, as well as in other facets of the program.
With the Seahawks, Bracken worked directly with the goalkeepers and helped Erin Kelly finish second in the Northeast Conference in save percentage during the 2020 season as she posted a .833 mark. She also mentored Sam Hughes during the 2021 campaign as she earned NEC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Bracken has worked with several programs to create goalkeeper training programs, including with Modern Goalkeeper, Silver Lakes Soccer Academy and Exact Sports.
A native of Wanaque, New Jersey, Bracken was a standout goalkeeper for Kutztown University where she saw action in 63 matches, posting a 42-17-3 record.
She had at least 10 wins in all four of her seasons and had a career-high 12 in 2018. That year, she finished with a career-best 78 saves and led the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in save percentage (.918) while finishing second in both shutouts (11) and goals-against average (0.389).
Bracken was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-America third team and the organization’s All-Atlantic Region First Team. She was also named the PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Year and was a member of the All-PSAC First Team. She garnered recognition as an All-Atlantic Region second team honoree by the United Soccer Coaches, as well.
Over the course of her career, she played on three teams that reached the NCAA Championships, including in 2016 when the school won its first-ever NCAA Atlantic Region Championship and eventually advanced to the NCAA title match. In 62 matches in goal, she recorded 244 saves and a 0.844 saves percentage. She allowed just 45 goals over the four years, playing to a 0.74 goals-against average. As of 2022, she still holds the school record for career wins and shutouts (22).
Bracken was a member of the Talent Grant Program for Art from 2016-2020, and she also played in two games for the Kutztown women’s lacrosse team in the spring of 2020.
