Lacey Phillips joined the Loyola University Maryland women’s soccer staff as a volunteer assistant coach prior to the 2018 season.
Phillips recently spent four seasons, 2013-16, as an assistant coach at nearby Stevenson University, an NCAA Division III school where she also earned her master’s degree in business, technology and management.
She helped the Mustangs to a 43-33-10 record over her four seasons on the bench. Stevenson reached the NCAA Division III College Cup Second Round in 2014 and made ECAC South Region Championships appearances in 2013 and 2016, finishing as runners-up in the postseason tournament in the former while reaching the quarterfinals in the latter.
In addition to her work at Stevenson, Phillips has also coached at Centennial High School in Howard County, York Country Day School, the Arundel Soccer Association U17 and Howard Community College. She currently coaches the 2005 and 2007 girl’s age groups at Ellicott City Soccer Club.
She was a four-year letterwinner as a collegiate player at York College of Pennsylvania where she played for the Spartans from 2008-11. During that time, she appeared in 69 games and made 13 starts, totaling 13 points on four goals and five assists.
Phillips was a captain as a senior at York, playing in all 18 games during the 2011 season and led the Spartans to a 6-2-0 record in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC). As a sophomore in 2009, she had a career-high five points with a goal and three assists, helping York reach the CAC Semifinals while posting a 14-5-1 overall mark.
The year prior, York reached the CAC Championship Game and finished 11-7-2 while Phillips saw action in 17 games and scored two goals.
Phillips graduated from York College of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a bachelor of science in sport management, earning numerous academic honors. She is a Pasadena, Maryland native and currently holds her USSF National D coaching license.
