Biography
2022 (Graduate Student): Returns for her final year of eligibility while pursuing a Master’s in Education at Loyola… Is the all-time leader in digs in both Loyola and Patriot League history with 2,201 entering the season… Her 5.93 digs per set mark, going into the year, ranks fourth in NCAA Division I all-time history. Earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in May 2022.
2021 (Senior): Named the Patriot League’s Libero of the Year for the fourth-straight year, marking the first time in conference history a volleyball player has earned an end-of-the-year award four times… Earned AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention for the second time… Tabbed to the Academic All-Patriot League Team… Ranked third in NCAA Division I in digs per set, averaging 5.70… Topped the Patriot League and finished in the top-four nationally in the stat category for the fourth year in a row… Played in all 102 sets and had 10 or more digs in all 28 of the Greyhounds matches… Had 20 or more digs in 17 of the matches and three with 30-plus… Tallied 26 digs in the season-opener against West Virginia… Had 31 in a three-set win over Princeton… Posted 26 digs to go with two aces against Georgetown in a four-set win… Had 24 digs and three aces in a three-set victory over American… Broke the Loyola and Patriot League career digs records in the match at American… Later had 33 digs at American and followed that with 39 at home against Lafayette.
2020 (Junior): Patriot League Libero of the Year and named to the All-Patriot League First Team for the third-straight season… Also earned Academic All-Patriot League and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recognition… Finished fourth in NCAA Division I in digs per set with 6.04 and had 169 total in 28 sets… Posted 18 or more digs in all six matches with three matches of 36 or more… Opened the year with 36 digs versus Navy… The following week, was forced into the lineup as an outside hitter at American and led the Greyhounds to their first win over the Eagles since 1992… Posted 10 kills and 21 digs… Two days later against Lehigh, she had 39 digs in a five-set match… Earned Patriot League Player of the Week after the pair of contests… Had 36 digs in the season finale against Navy.
2019 (Sophomore): Broke her own school and Patriot League records for digs and digs per set with 753 and 6.17… Was second in NCAA Division I in total digs, third in the per-set category… Her 6.17 digs per set are 16th in NCAA Division I single-season history… Named the Patriot League Libero of the Year and to the All-Patriot League First Team for the second-straight season and also became the first Loyola player to earn American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region honors… Earned an invitation to tryout for the U.S. Women's National Team and the U.S. Collegiate National Team (CNT) program… Picked up ECAC Defensive Player of the Year recognition, as well… Earned Loyola’s Female Sophomore of the Year Award, an athletic department-wide honor… Became the first player in Patriot League history to average more than six digs per set… Against teams ranked in the NCAA RPI’s top-100, she averaged 5.81 digs per set… Had 13 or more digs in all but one of the Greyhounds’ 31 contests, and she had 20 or more 20 times… Over the course of the season’s last 10 matches, she had 21 or more digs each time she stepped on the court… Set the school, and tied the Patriot League record for digs in a match when she had 46 against Holy Cross… Earned All-Tournament honors in all four of the Greyhounds’ 2019 tournaments… Posted 35 digs against Western Michigan and then had 22, 22 and 19 in matches against Canisius, Charlotte and UMBC while Loyola won the Charm City Challenge… Became the fastest player to 1,000 career kills in Patriot League history in her 44th career match when she had 26 against NJIT… Had a three-match stretch of averaging 9.31 digs per set when she had 36 at American, followed by 39 and 46 versus Colgate and Holy Cross… Named Patriot League Player of the Week twice during the season… Earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2018 (Freshman): Made an immediate impact in her first collegiate season, earning Patriot League Libero and Rookie of the Year accolades and first team All-Patriot League status… Along with teammate Ann Ernst, became the first Loyola players to be named All-Patriot League since the Greyhounds joined the conference in 2013… Also became the first player to earn Rookie and Libero/Defensive Player of the Year honors since the Patriot League was formed in 1990… led the conference and ranked fourth in all of Division I in digs per set (5.86)… Topped the Patriot League and was seventh nationally in total digs (697)… Was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week in six of 11 weeks during the regular season… In addition to her defensive numbers, ranked tied for the team lead in aces (23) and was fourth in assists (138)… Appeared in all 30 matches, totaling at least 13 digs in every contest… Had 20+ digs in 20 out of 30 appearances, had 30+ digs on six occasions, and twice surpassed 40 digs… Had six of the Patriot League’s top nine dig performances on the year… Supplied 41 digs in a four-set win over Towson (8/25), and posted a season-high 42 digs in a four-set victory vs. Holy Cross (10/6)… Those 42 digs were a Patriot League high for the season, and they were tied for the most by any Division I player in a four-set contest …Totaled 32 digs, tied for the second-highest in DI, during a three-set triumph over Lafayette (9/22)… Had 30 digs at American (10/3) and 34 digs vs. Army West Point (10/5) leading up to her standout effort against Holy Cross… Added 37 more digs in a five-set matchup vs. Lehigh (10/20)… Had 23 digs in the regular season finale at Colgate (11/11), helping Loyola clinch its first-ever Patriot League tournament appearance… Managed one double-double on the year, registering 10 assists and 15 digs in a non-conference tilt vs. James Madison (9/7).
Before Loyola: Graduated from Gilmour Academy in Gate Mills, Ohio, where she earned four letters in both volleyball and softball… Garnered All-Ohio First Team recognition in volleyball as a junior and senior (2016-17) after be named to the second team in 2015… Helped Gilmour win the state title in 2016, as well as making a title-game appearance in 2014… Aided Gilmour as it made a state tournament appearance in 2017… Played club volleyball for Eastside Cleveland Juniors.
Personal: Daughter of Lynn and James Forsythe… Has an older brother, James… Earned academic honor roll throughout high school.
