Women's Swimming Edged Out At St. Francis

Loretto, Pa. - The Loyola women's swim team fell in head-to-head non-conference competition at St. Francis (PA) on Friday night. The Greyhounds won over half of the evening's 14 events, but where edged out in the final point total, 136-126.

The Greyhounds jumped out to an early lead, winning the first event of the night. The 400 Medley Relay team, consisting of Melissa White, Kim Krzaczek, Caitlin Cassidy and Megan Royer won the event in 4:05.71.

Individually, junior Tori Kamauff led Loyola's effort with three wins of her own. Kamauff captured the 200 Free in 1:57.85, the 200 Back in 2:13.85, and the 200 IM with a time of 2;14.85.

Cassidy also won two individual events to go along with her relay win. Cassidy took the 100 Back in 1:01.23, and won the 100 Fly in 58.92.

Other Loyola winners included White, who won the 200 Fly (2:15.85), and Krzaczek, who captured the 100 Breast (1:11.06.)

The Loyola women are now 3-3 this season and will swim tomorrow with the men in the program's annual Alumni Meet.
