Women's Lacrosse Takes to the Road

Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola women's lacrosse team travels for its first road game of the season, visiting Rutgers on Sunday. The Greyhounds are 1-2 on the season with an overtime victory over UMBC and losses to Hofstra and North Carolina.

ABOUT THE `HOUNDS
Junior Maura Kenny leads Loyola in scoring currently with nine goals and an assist. She is followed by sophomore transfer Colleen O'Keefe with four goals and four assists. Senior Kate McHarg is third on the team in points with six goals this season. Junior Kate Filippelli added three goals while freshman Emily Gibson has recorded three assists. Sophomore Elizabeth Weber has scored twice while junior Alicyn Brunnett has been credited with one assist. Freshman Marianna Smith has a goal and classmate Bridget O'Keefe has one assist to round out all scores.

Freshman Karen Nicolaus has recorded 31 saves on the season in the cage for Loyola. She has an 11.29 goals-against average and a .470 saves percentage.

Senior Liz Peregoy has a team-high six draw controls while junior Kristen Stone has a team-high eight groundballs and four caused turnovers. Peregoy also has four caused turnovers.

SCOUTING THE SCARLET KNIGHTS
Rutgers is 3-0 currently on the season with wins over Delaware (15-12), Villanova (19-6) and Cornell (11-10).

Michelle Poole and Nina Frankoski tie the lead in points with 11 each. Poole has nine goals and two assists while Frankoski has seven goals and four assists. Katie Batiuk adds nine goals and one assist. Both Brooke Cantwell and Katy Lawrence each have seven goals while six other Rutgers players have points to their credit.

Sandra Abel is the Scarlet Knights starter in goal. She posts a 12.50 goals against average and a .429 saves percentage.
