May 12, 2011

BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland swimmers Scott Heil and Brennan Morris earned CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major All-America Honorable Mention after leading the Greyhounds to their third consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship.

Morris, a sophomore, earned MAAC Most Outstanding Men's Swimmer honors for the second year in a row after setting three MAAC records at the competition. He won the 1,650-yard freestyle, the 400-yard individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle at the meet, all in MAAC record times.

Morris also earned All-America Honorable Mention following the 2009-2010 season.

Capping his freshman year with the Greyhounds, Heil won the 200-yard freestyle at the MAAC Championships, setting a conference record in the process. He also won the 100-yard freestyle and took second to Morris in the 500-yard freestyle and also swam under the previous conference record in the event.

The duo combined to help Loyola win every relay title at the meet.
