Fawole's Overtime Game Winner Gets Men's Soccer 3-2 Win At Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior Josh Fawole scored the game-winning goal in the 107th minute to get the Loyola University Maryland men's soccer team a 3-2 double-overtime win at Holy Cross Saturday afternoon. 
 
The Crusaders netted the first two goals of the game with Owen Azrak sending a ball to Simon Becher for a breakaway goal in the 26th minute. Edi Mujan then headed in a corner kick from Max Krause in the 28th minute to put Holy Cross ahead, 2-0. 
 
Fawole scored his first of the game in the 39th minute when he converted his first collegiate penalty kick. Sophomore Jake Dengler had been taken down in the box on the Greyhounds' corner kick to draw the foul. 
 
In the midst of Loyola looking for its equalizer, the Crusaders were awarded a penalty kick in the 67th minute, but sophomore Chase Vosvick made his third PK save of the season to keep the Greyhounds within striking distance.
 
Junior Barry Sharifi then netted Loyola's equalizer in the 81st minute when he stuck a ball into the top-right corner of the goal from 25 yards out.
 
Vosvick was able to save Holy Cross' shot in the first overtime period, allowing Fawole to finish a cross from junior Brian Saramgo for the game-winning goal in the 107th minute.
 
For the game, the Greyhounds outshot the Crusaders 24-14 and held a 13-7 advantage in shots on goal and a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
 
In goal for Loyola, Vosvick tied a season-high of five saves.
 
Loyola will remain on the road for a second-straight game as it travels to American Wednesday for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
