Yanchoris, Rosenzweig, VanThof Named ILWomen Media All-Americans

May 21, 2018

BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse team had three Greyhounds named an ILWomen All-American, with junior Kristen Yanchoris earning a second-team honor as a defender and freshman Livy Rosenzweig (attack) and junior Taylor VanThof (midfield) picking up third team accolades.

Yanchoris, the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's lacrosse, earns her first All-America honor after captaining the defense this season. She started and played all 21 games, finishing fourth on the team with 25 ground balls and second with 19 caused turnovers. She also helped the unit rank 16th nationally in scoring defense, as the Greyhounds gave up just 9.76 goals per game. In Patriot League contests, Loyola was the only team to hold its opponents to eight-goals-or-less, as the unit allowed just 6.22 per game.

Rosenzweig had an outstanding first season for the Greyhounds, becoming the first player at Loyola - male or female - to record 100 points in a season. With 102 points, she not only set the school record for single-season points, but the program's Freshman Records for points, assists (47) and draw controls (89), while her eight assists against Colgate broke Loyola's single-game record. She was voted the Patriot League Rookie of the Year and the lone rookie to the All-Patriot League First Team, while she was one of three freshmen honored on the 36-member All-Mid-Atlantic Region First or Second Team, garnering first-team accolades.

VanThof, a two-time All-Mid-Atlantic Region honoree, is garnering her first All-America honor after leading the Greyhounds with 119 draw controls and finishing second on the team with 49 goals. A top-25 Tewaaraton Award Semifinalist, VanThof became the first player at Loyola - and the third in Patriot League history - to reach 10 draw controls in multiple seasons, while she also cracked into the top three of the Patriot League's career records for draw controls, finishing the season third with 284.

The Greyhounds earned their fifth-straight Patriot League Regular Season Title this year and finished the season with a 16-5 record, one win shy of tying the program record for wins in a season. Loyola advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2015 after earning the No. 8 seed in the tournament.
