BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland men's soccer is on the road for its final non-conference game of the regular season, taking on No. 4 Wake Forest in a challenging matchup at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (Update: Wake Forest rose to No. 2 in the latest national rankings released on Oct. 22).

Last Time Out

  • Jonathan Sousa deflected in the game-winner 2:11 into overtime, as Loyola knocked off three-time defending Patriot League champions Colgate by a 2-1 final on the road Saturday.
  • Eddy Rodriguez and Josh Fawole set up the winner, with Rodriguez heading the ball to Fawole, who sent in a cross from the right side.
  • Brian Saramago added his second goal in as many games for the Greyhounds, who are now tied for third with Lafayette in the conference standings.
  • Colgate led 14-2 in shots through the first 62 minutes of the contest. Loyola held a 11-1 advantage for the final half hour of game action.
  • Chase Vosvick finished with three saves to record his second-consecutive victory in goal.

Series History

  • This will be the first-ever meeting between the two sides.
  • Loyola has faced two ACC opponents this season, falling 2-1 at NC State in its season opener on Aug. 30 and dropping another 2-1 decision to then-No. 10 Virginia Tech on Sept. 6.
  • Loyola's last win over an ACC foe was a 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh on Sept. 20, 2016.

  • Sharifi, who scored his team-leading third GWG in a 4-1 win over NJIT last Tuesday, is honored for a third time this season and a 10th time overall at Loyola.
  • Sousa takes home his second-career weekly award. Both Sharifi and Sousa were previously recognized by the conference two weeks ago on Oct. 7.
