Delaney Connolly has been named to the five-member Patriot League All-Academic Team, as announced Tuesday by the League office.
Connolly, a chemistry major, maintains a perfect 4.0 grade-point average, putting together three-straight unblemished semesters. She is joined by American's Cecily Carl, the Patriot League Scholar Athlete of the Year for women's basketball, American's Elina Koskimies, Army West Point's Jess Lewis and Lehigh's Hannah Hedstrom on the all-academic team.
A forward from Vienna, Virginia, Connolly finished the season third on the team and 22
nd in the League in scoring, averaging 9.1 points per game. She also finished third on the team in rebounding, grabbing 4.7 per contest.
In a 55-52 win at Lafayette on February 16, Connolly dropped a career-high 25 points, while she grabbed a personal-best 11 rebounds against Lehigh on February 27. She also finished with 20 points in the Greyhounds' loss at Bucknell in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League Championships.
For the season, Connolly played 30 games, starting 23, and averaged 26.3 minutes per contest. She led the squad from beyond the arc and ranked 12th in the League with 40 3-pointers made, while she also dished out 23 assists and earned 13 steals.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshman or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
