Emily Koegl posted a top-five finish Saturday at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship, leading the Loyola University Maryland men's and women's swimming and diving teams in the final event of the 2018-19 season.
Koegl swam 57.55 in the preliminaries of the women's 100-yard individual medley and then bested that with a school-record time of 56.96 to finish fifth in the final.
Sung Lee took 10
th in the men's 100-yard individual medley, setting a school record in the process with a time of 51.62.
As a team, the Loyola men finished 19th out of 25 teams, and the women were 25th out of 47.
Alejandro Basalo scored for the Greyhounds in the men's 1,650-yard freestyle, coming in 13
th with a time of 16:39.87.
Jimmy Haybrun finished 33
rd in the men's 100-yard freestyle (46.05), and
Megan Dickey had the best Loyola time in the women's race (51.70).
The men's 400-yard freestyle relay team of
Josh Walker,
Jimmy Hayburn,
Reid Hussey and Jay Venit took 16
th in 3:07.83, and the women's squad of
Anne Hayburn,
Sophie Jahan,
Faith Tyranski and Dickey closed the meet with a 26
th-place performance (3:30.83).
