Ball, Brown, Golf All Top-10 Following One Round Of Golden Horseshoe

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -
Junior Preston Ball and the Loyola University Maryland golf team are in the top five of the individual and team standings, respectively, following the first round of the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Course Sunday.
 
Ball turned in an even 71 to sit tied for fifth entering tomorrow's second round, while the Greyhounds are tied for third overall with a 13-over 297. Drake's Tommi Avant and William & Mary's Matthew Feinstein lead the individuals with a 3-under 68, while Campbell (294, +10) and Drake (295, +11) are atop the team leaderboard.
 
Sophomore Evan Brown joins Ball in the top 10, sitting tied for seventh with a 1-over 72, while senior Erick Alonso is tied for 16th with a first-round score of 3-over 74.
 
Sophomores Nick Mejia and Brandon Berry are tied for 69th with 9-over 80s through today's action.
 
The Greyhounds will return to action Monday morning for the second round. They'll tee off at 10 a.m. and will play with Old Dominion and Radford.
