Golf Third, Brown Fourth After Two Rounds Of Princeton Invitational

The Loyola University Maryland golf team is in third place following two rounds of the Princeton Invitational, while sophomore Evan Brown is tied for fourth among all of the individuals.
 
Brown signed for a 4-under 67 and 3-under 68, respectively, to finish the two rounds at 7-under 135. He enters the final round just one stroke back of the leaders, as Yale's Paul Stankey, Yale's Teddy Zinsner and Princeton's Jake Mayer are all tied for first at 8-under 134.
 
As a team, the Greyhounds are in third with a 2-under 566. Yale leads the team race with a 19-under 549, while Penn is second at 12-under 556. Columbia, Temple and Georgetown are all two strokes back of Loyola and tied for fourth with an even 568.
 
In addition to Brown, classmate Brandon Berry will enter tomorrow's final round under par, as he combined for a two-round score of 1-under 141. He carded a 2-under 69 through the first round and then finished the second round at 1-over 72 to sit in a five-way tie for 16th place.
 
Senior Erick Alonso is even 142 after two rounds. He shot a 2-over 73 this morning and then shaved four strokes off of his first round score to move up nine spots on the leaderboard with a 2-under 69.
 
Sophomore Nick Mejia and freshman Matthew Malits, playing as an individual, are next, and tied for 56th overall, with matching at 6-over 148s. Mejia shot a 2-over 74 through both rounds, while Malits shot an even 72 and 4-over 76, respectively.
 
Junior Preston Ball then rounds out the Greyhounds with a 7-over 149 (74-75) to sit tied for 60th after the two rounds.
 
Loyola will tee off at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow morning for the final round. The Greyhounds will play with Yale and Pennsylvania.
