Women’s Lacrosse Welcomes 10 Freshmen to Program

BALTIMORE – The Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse program officially announced its recruiting Class of 2023 on Wednesday. 
 
The 10 freshmen come from four different states and one Canadian province. The group includes five midfielders, three attackers, one defender and one goalkeeper.

"We are so excited to welcome the Class of 2023 to Loyola and our program," head coach Jen Adams said. "This is a talented and dynamic group of incoming athletes that we anticipate will make an immediate impact on the field this year. Each player is coming off a stellar high school lacrosse career, and we look forward to helping take their games to the next level and sharing in this important time in their lives."

Amber Bustard

Before Loyola: 
Three-time Baltimore Sun All-Metro selection at Roland Park Country School (first team in 2017, second team in 2018 and 2019) … achieved Under Armour All-America status as a senior … IAAM All-Conference performer and Roland Park's Unsung Hero Award winner in 2017 … helped team advance to IAAM championship game in 2016 … finished with 185 saves or more in goal in each of her final three seasons … played club lacrosse for M&D Black … also lettered in soccer, cross country and track & field … part of two IAAM B-Conference cross country championships.

Personal: Is the daughter of Jack and Teri Bustard … has one sister, Nicole … Ben Carson Scholar Nominee as a junior … member of Cum Laude Society and Mu Alpha Theta … recipient of University of Chicago Award in 2018 … first generation college student who hopes to become an orthopedic surgeon.


Catie Corolla

Before Loyola: 
Two-time US Lacrosse All-American at Leonardtown HS after totaling 109 goals, 18 assists, 153 draw controls and 53 ground balls across her final two seasons … two-time St. Mary's County Player of the Year and two-time first team all-conference performer … Washington Post second team All-Met in 2018 (honorable mention in 2019) … led team to three conference championships, with the 2016 squad also winning the region and advancing to state championship game … also a four-year starter for club ice hockey team, and a three-year starter in field hockey … three-time Team MVP in field hockey, and a first team All-County performer in 2018 … also played lacrosse at Maryland United Lacrosse Club.

Personal: Is the daughter of Robert and Holly … father was a lacrosse goalie at Navy, and mother was a member of the rowing team at Navy … has a twin brother, Matthew … received Maryland State Merit Scholastic Award for ranking in the top five percent of her graduating class … also achieved AP Scholar and National Merit Scholarship Program Commended Student distinction … four-year Straight A's Award winner … National Honor Society member.


Sydney Foster

Before Loyola: 
Scored over 120 goals during her high school career at Bishop Ireton, helping team win four WCAC lacrosse championships … named USLacrosse High School All-American as a senior … also Washington Post second team All-Met in 2019 … first team All-State and All-Conference performer from 2017-19 … led team to state championships in 2017 and 2018.

Personal: Is the daughter of Bernie Foster … graduated magna cum laude from Bishop Ireton … National Honor Society member.


Meg Hillman

Before Loyola: 
Two-time Trentonian Prep Player of the Year honoree, earning the award in each of her final two seasons at Lawrenceville … scored 197 career goals in high school, including 73 as a senior while leading team to a fourth-straight MAPL League championship, a third-straight Mercer County championship and an inaugural SEAL title … three-time first team All-State and four-time All-MAPL performer … recorded 47 goals, 21 assists, 95 ground balls and 64 draw controls as a junior … added 35 goals and 32 assists while helping team to a Prep A State Championship in 2017 … also a four-year varsity starter in field hockey and track & field, and started on basketball team as a freshman … played club lacrosse at T3 North Lacrosse Club.

Personal: Is the daughter of Kristin McCarthy and William Hillman … mother played field hockey at Dickinson … has five siblings: Emma, Joe, Grace, Katie and John … Grace was a two-time All-American field hockey performer at Johns Hopkins … Joe played football at Hamilton College … was a Dean's List student at Lawrenceville.


Regan Kielmeyer

Before Loyola: 
Led Suffolk County in assists per game as a senior, totaling 27 goals and 51 assists at Smithtown HS West … also named All-County, Smithtown HS West Best Female Athlete and Booster Club Team MVP in 2019 … two-time Inside Lacrosse Standout Player (2016, 2018) … named a Newsday Top Player to Watch on Long Island … selected to the US Lacrosse NYC Metro National Tournament team in 2017 and 2018 … played club lacrosse at Team Elevate, earning Offensive MVP honors in 2018.

Personal: Is the daughter of Lisa and Shane … father played lacrosse at UMass … has one brother, Evan … also has an aunt, Lindsay (Stone) Gilliam, who played lacrosse at North Carolina … winner of the National Congressional Essay Scholarship in 2018 … member of the National, English and Social Studies Honor Societies … co-founder of Stix Together, a charitable entity supporting lacrosse and education.


Corinna Lyon

Before Loyola: 
Competed in lacrosse at The Hill Academy from 2015-19 … also played for Lady Blue Knights, helping team win four provincial championships and one national title in Canada … three-time Strength and Conditioning Award recipient (2016-18) … was an All Around Gold provincial gymnast.

Logan Olmstead

Before Loyola: 
First team All-League selection as a midfielder in 2019 after totaling 22 goals, five assists and 47 draw controls at Corning-Painted Post HS … earned fifth team All-State accolades as a junior after recording 25 goals, three assists and 84 draws as a junior … Southern Tier Athletic Conference West Division All-Star in 2017 after registering 23 goals, five assists and 49 draws … helped team win three Section IV Class A championships … also played lacrosse for Salt City Snipers Lacrosse Club.

Riley Olmstead

Totaled 109 goals, 41 assists and 171 draw controls across her final four seasons at Corning-Painted Post HS … five-year varsity lacrosse player … earned New York State Sportswriters fifth team All-State accolades in 2018, and was named to the Section IV Class A All-Tournament Team in 2016 … helped team win three Section IV Class A championships … also a four-year varsity soccer player … earned all-conference accolades in 2018, and won a section championship in 2016 … played club lacrosse for Salt City Snipers in Syracuse.

Anna Ruby

Before Loyola: 
Totaled 152 goals, 50 assists, 326 draw controls and 76 caused turnovers across four seasons at Westminster HS, helping team win Class 3A state championships in each of her final two seasons … earned Baltimore Sun first team All-State accolades as a junior in 2018, tallying 59 goals and leading Westminster to its first-ever state title … chosen as Offensive Player of the Game in 2018 3A state championship … added second team All-State honors while helping team repeat as state champions in 2019, contributing 45 goals and setting high school career highs in assists (25), draws (116) and caused turnovers (26) … first team All-Carroll County in 2018 and 2019, second team All-Carroll County in 2017 … named to Maximum Exposure All-Star team (2017) and IL Women Magazine's Junior Watchlist … also played lacrosse for Under Armour Baltimore Highlight (2017), Under Armour Baltimore Command (2016) and Check-Hers Elite (12 years) … two-year varsity letterwinner in field hockey, helping team advance to state championship game in 2016.

Emily Wills

Before Loyola: 
Earned USLacrosse All-America status in each of her final two seasons at The Agnes Irwin School … part of two PAISAA championship-winning teams (2017, 2018), two PAISAA finalists (2016, 2019), and three Inter-Ac championships (2016-18) … first team All-Inter Ac, first team All-Southeastern Pennsylvania, and first team All-Main Line in both 2018 and 2019 … totaled 107 goals and 30 assists as a senior, and finished with 214 goals and 60 assists overall at Agnes Irwin … US Lacrosse Jackie Pitts Award recipient in 2019 … Under Armour All-America Underclass All-Tournament Team honoree … named a PA Digest Player to Watch, and selected to the Inside Lacrosse Indoor Championship watch list as a sophomore … also a four-year varsity cross country runner, earning All-Main Line status as a senior … played club lacrosse for Big 4 HHH.
