BALTIMORE – Loyola is back at Reitz Arena on Saturday afternoon, hosting Army West Point at 1 p.m. on Alumnae Day. Loyola's 1994-95 women's basketball team is set to be honored at halftime in recognition of the 25th anniversary of its MAAC Championship and NCAA tournament appearance.
Last Time Out
- Stephanie Karcz became just the 27th player in NCAA Division I women's basketball history to reach 400 career steals, highlighting an otherwise tough night for Loyola in a 44-42 defeat at Boston University on Wednesday.
- The Greyhounds led 18-6 at the end of the first quarter, but were limited to 24 points the rest of the way.
- Trailing 44-34 with under three minutes left, Loyola used an 8-0 run to pull within two, but missed a potential game-tying basket at the buzzer.
- Delaney Connolly scored a team-high 11 points, hitting 3 of 4 attempts from 3-point range. Karcz added nine points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals.
- Both teams shot under 35 percent from the field. The Terriers came out on top despite going 9 for 21 (42.9 percent) from the free throw line.
Series History
- Army leads 12-6 in a series which dates back to 2008.
- The Black Knights had won 11 of the past 12 meetings prior to a 70-51 victory for the Greyhounds on Feb. 2 at Reitz last season.
- Four Loyola players scored in double figures in that win, led by a career-high 17 points from Hannah Niles. Stephanie Karcz added 16 points and nine steals.
- Army posted a 69-57 victory on Jan. 6 in West Point in the other meeting between the teams last season.
Scouting Army
- The Black Knights (5-11, 1-4 Patriot League) upset Holy Cross by a 61-48 final on Wednesday to snap a four-game losing streak and earn their conference victory of the season.
- Alisa Fallon, who averages a team-high 13.1 points per game, led the way with 21 points and 11 rebounds, as Army outscored the Crusaders 25-11 in the fourth quarter.
- The Black Knights have dropped their last four road games, with their last triumph away from West Point a 70-68 decision at Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 30.
- Army ranks last in the Patriot League in points allowed (73.4 ppg), scoring margin (-9.3), turnover margin (-6.7) and rebounds allowed (41.1).
Karcz Among All-Time Steals Leaders, Moving Up Loyola Assist List
- Stephanie Karcz, who is currently 27th in Division I with 402 total steals, has a chance to quickly move up the all-time leaderboard in the coming weeks.
- With five steals on Saturday, she would move past six players to No. 21. Among those within reach are former Duke standout Alana Beard, who finished with 404 career thefts.
- Karcz continues to lead DI with 5.7 steals per game (91 total); she is one of just three players in DI averaging over four per contest. Karcz recorded 6+ thefts in 10 consecutive games from Nov. 13 - Jan. 2.
- Karcz is one of two active players in Division I with 1,000 career points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals. She has 1,110 career points (14th all-time at Loyola), 949 career rebounds (4th at Loyola), 351 career assists (6th at Loyola), 25 career double-doubles, three triple doubles and 11 games with 20+ points.
- With two assists on Saturday, Karcz would move past Katie Sheahin (2009-13) for No. 5 all-time in program history..
Karcz Named Senior CLASS Candidate
- Stephanie Karcz was announced Friday as one of 30 women's basketball student-athletes across Division I chosen as a candidate for the 2019-20 Senior CLASS Award.
- To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
- Karcz is one of three Patriot League student-athletes recognized, joining Camryn Buhr and Hannah Hedstrom from Lehigh.

Weekly Honor for McAteer
- Emily McAteer was recognized Monday as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week after averaging 14.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game against a pair of conference opponents.
- She became the first Loyola player to take home the award since Taleah Dixon on Dec. 10 last season.
- McAteer is averaging a team-high 12.4 points per game to go along with 7.4 rebounds per contest and six blocks in conference play.
- McAteer totaled a season-best 18 points (4-8 3FG) and seven boards in Loyola's conference opener against Holy Cross on Jan. 2.

- Mackenzie Wagner returned to action on Wednesday after missing the previous 12 games due to an illness. She grabbed two rebounds in seven minutes.
