COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America released its Scholar All-America Teams for the Spring 2020 semester on Tuesday, with Loyola University Maryland's men's and women's programs both earning recognition.
Loyola was one of 461 schools nationally to receive the award. Teams required a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the spring semester to be honored.
Both Greyhound programs were well above that standard, as the women finished with a collective GPA of 3.77 while the men registered a 3.49 GPA. All 41 women managed GPA's of 3.0 or higher during the spring, and 37 men accomplished the feat. Between both programs, 21 student-athletes finished with 4.0 GPA's in the spring.
This is the second academic honor in as many weeks for the swimming and diving programs, as 71 Greyhounds received Academic Honor Roll status from the Patriot League last Tuesday.
The CSCAA will release Scholar All-America selections next week.
