BALTIMORE –
Olivia Tracey and
Anna Rico won four matches this weekend at Loyola University Maryland's Greyhounds Classic to take the overall title as the women's tennis team completed its fall schedule of competition.
Tracey and Rico opened with a win over a George Mason duo in the first round before beating a Morgan State team in the quarterfinals. They then beat two more pairs of Patriots in the semifinals and title match.
The Loyola tandem lost the doubles point, 6-4, in Sunday's championship, but both players came back to win their singles matches in straight-sets.
A trio of Greyhounds –
Lauren Manwiller,
Jessica Bodewes and
Genevieve Wurtz – combined during the weekend and eventually finished sixth as the Greyhounds' next-highest finishing team.
Abby Decker,
Sandra Aguirre and
Julia Thompson were eighth overall for Loyola.
Lauren Williamson and
Taylor Kuncl were 14
th and
Addison Kemerer and
Ronnie Gruseck finished 15
th.
