BALTIMORE –
Abby Hamilton had 22 kills on Saturday afternoon, but Lehigh won the fourth and fifth sets to rally for a Patriot League win, 19-25, 25-13, 11-25, 25-21, 15-13, on Saturday afternoon in Reitz Arena.
Hamilton finished the weekend with 50 kills in two matches after posting a career-high 28 on Friday night against Lafayette.
Caitlin Churney posted a career-best 11 kills, while
Lauren Link had the same total for the Greyhounds.
Link put away one of her kills to give the Greyhounds a 15-13 lead in the fourth set, but Lehigh soon took the lead and extended it to 18-15 on an Emily Stewart kill.
The margin gapped to four, 22-18, before Loyola got within a pair, 23-21 on a Hamilton kill, but Lehigh score the set's last two points to close out the frame and force a fifth.
Churney had a kill to pull Loyola within a point, 5-4, in the fifth, but Lehigh's Sabrina Lancaster and Stewart combined for a block to make it 10-6 and force a Loyola timeout.
Link's kill made it 14-13, but Megan Schulte rallied for the Mountain Hawks for a kill to put away the match in Lehigh's favor.
