WORCESTER, Mass. – Loyola University Maryland hit .286 and with eight blocks held College of the Holy Cross to a .000 hitting percentage during a three-set sweep, 25-10, 25-21, 25-19, on Friday evening in Patriot League play.
The Greyhounds started their two-match road trip with the sweep as the Crusaders had 22 kills and an equal number of errors.
Abby Hamilton and
Lauren Link teamed to post the same number of kills as Holy Cross as Hamilton finished with 12, and Link had 10. The pair hit a combined .288 from the outside for Loyola.
Adara Kellogg was in on seven of the Greyhounds eight blocks, teaming with
Kacy Sekunda and
Caitlin Churney three times each.
Cecylia Guye added six kills for Loyola, and Sekunda had 29 assists.
Katie Forsythe led the Greyhounds' passing effort, posting 14 digs, while Link had a double-double with 12.
Loyola is back in action on Saturday afternoon with a 4 p.m. match at the U.S. Military Academy.
