HAMILTON, N.Y. – Loyola University Maryland rallied to win the third set Friday night against Colgate University after losing the first two, but the Raiders came back to close out the match in four, posting a 25-14, 25-21, 13-25, 25-16 Patriot League victory on their home floor.
Abby Hamilton had 13 kills, while
Lauren Link added 10 for the Greyhounds, but Loyola's .143 hitting percentage was its lowest in over a month.
The Greyhounds had just six kills, while committing 10 hitting errors, in the first set and hit at a -.129 clip, but by the third set the offense was firing again as it put away 14 kills with two errors for a .462 mark.
Colgate, however, turned a 17-15 lead into a 25-16 match win by scoring eight of the contest's last nine points.
Hamilton had 11 digs for a double-double, while
Katie Forsythe posted 16 for the Greyhounds.
Loyola will be back in action Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock when it faces Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
