EASTON, Pa. –
Isabella Therien made it back-to-back double-doubles after totaling 12 points and a career-high 15 rebounds, but offense was hard to come by for Loyola University Maryland in a 47-35 setback at Lafayette on Saturday.
Natalie Kucowski led the Leopards (4-7 PL, 1-5 CEN) with 14 points, nine rebounds and five blocks. Jess Booth added 13 points, while Naomi Ganpo had four blocks for the home side.
Therien was coming off a 16-point, 10-rebound performance against American last Sunday. She has now scored in double figures in six of the last seven games, and she is shooting 44.4 percent from 3-point range on the year after hitting both attempts from long distance this afternoon.
Loyola shot just 22.6 percent (12-53) while being held to a season-low scoring total. Lafayette led from start-to-finish after beginning the contest on a 7-0 run. It was a 28-14 score at the intermission, and the visitors never got closer than eight points in the second half.
Charia Roberts contributed a season-high eight points to go along with six boards, two steals and two assists. Caramina Tañedo added five points and two thefts while making her first-career start.
Loyola's 35 points were its fewest in a game since totaling 33 in a setback to East Carolina on Dec. 9, 2014.
The Greyhounds close out the regular season on Sunday afternoon, hosting Lafayette at 5 p.m. inside Reitz Arena.
