BALTIMORE – The U.S. Naval Academy men's tennis team did not lose a set Saturday as the Midshipmen defeated host Loyola University Maryland, 7-0, in Patriot League action.
The Mids' Andrew Ton and Sasha Panyan got past
Edik Pribitkin and
Charlie Shanker, 6-2, at No. 1 doubles, while Derrick Thompson and Jack Dabek beat
Cooper Tomchik and
Peter Kelley by the same score in the second flight. Gavin Segraves and Christian Pumpelly then beat
Oliver Davey and
Tyler Mast, 6-1, at No. 3 doubles.
Pribitkin and Ton played a tight No. 1 singles match with the Navy player winning, 7-5, 6-1, while Shanker battled Thompson at No. 2 and the Mids came away with a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
Jake Fishkin beat
Matt Cardano, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 3 singles, and Segraves was a 6-0, 6-0 victor against Davey at No. 4. Jake McBride beat Kelley, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles, and Panyan topped Mast, 6-4, 6-0.
The Greyhounds will be back on the court Tuesday as the men's and women's tennis teams host Hofstra University starting at 3 p.m.
