BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After another impressive dual meet in which Loyola University Maryland won all 24 events against American, the Greyhounds received all four Patriot League Swimming and Diving weekly awards for a second time this season.
Reid Hussey and
Lily Mead earned men's and women's Swimmer of the Week honors, while
Jessica Stolfi and
Dan Faunce were recognized as the conference's Divers of the Week. Loyola's men topped American by a final of 137-57, while the official margin on the women's side was 146-70.
Hussey and Mead each earn their second weekly accolades of the season. Hussey contributed to three of the 12 victories for the Loyola men, taking first individually in the 100 individual medley and 100 backstroke while anchoring the Greyhounds' first-place 200 freestyle relay squad. Hussey's 100 IM mark of 50.93 broke a two-year old school record, and his personal-best time of 50.22 in the 100 back ranks fourth in the Patriot League this winter.
Mead touched the wall first in both the 100 IM (57.88) and 100 butterfly (56.25) on Saturday, and she added a second-place showing in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.06). Mead was over two seconds ahead of her next-closest competitor in the 100 IM, and her 100 fly and 100 breast times are both ranked 11th overall in the conference.
Stolfi beat out four other divers in the 1-meter competition with an overall score of 193.65 points, and she bested a pair of teammates in the 3-meter with a score of 201.44 points. For the season, she is ranked sixth among Patriot League divers in the 1-meter with a top effort of 212.26 points, and she is seventh in the conference in the 3-meter (218.63).
Faunce was unopposed in the diving events, as he posted season-best scores in both the 1-meter (212.47 points) and 3-meter (198.60) competitions.
The Greyhounds remain at Mangione Pool next weekend, hosting Villanova in a dual beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
