BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League released its all-conference and major award winners for women's soccer on Tuesday afternoon, with five Loyola University Maryland standouts achieving All-Patriot League status.

Claire Beath and Ada Clare Tempert earned first team accolades, while Paige Sim, Sarah Bayer and Nicole Rivas were recognized on the third team. Loyola's five selections were the highest among South division schools and the third-most overall in the conference.

The Greyhounds (3-1-1 PL, 2-1-1 South) will make their second-straight Patriot League tournament appearance on Wednesday, when they travel to Navy for a semifinal matchup beginning at 6 p.m.

Beath (Kennebunkport, Maine/Miss Porter's School) receives her first All-Patriot League selection. A four-year starter on the backline, she is the lone Loyola field player to appear in all 474 minutes of game action this spring, and she has played in 2,307 out of a possible 2,334 minutes dating back to the start of the 2019 season. At center back, she is a key contributor to a defense which has surrendered just two goals in five games this spring. Beath has appeared in 55 games overall at Loyola, earning starts in 51 of those contests.

Tempert (Baltimore, Md./Mercy) has scored two of Loyola's four goals this year, including a game-winning strike in the Greyhounds' 1-0 win over Bucknell on March 13. After missing her freshman season due to an offseason injury, the 2018-19 Gatorade Maryland Girls Soccer Player of the Year scored her first Loyola goal in the 54th minute of her collegiate debut vs. Colgate. She would then send in a cross which was deflected in for an own goal with 2:33 remaining, sealing a 2-1 season opening win for the Greyhounds. Tempert has started each of the last four games and ranks second on the team with nine shots.

Sim (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista) receives all-conference accolades for a second straight season after landing on the second team as a freshman in 2019. She has played every minute in goal for the Greyhounds this spring, totaling a 3-1-1 record with 13 saves, a 0.38 goals-against average and a .867 save percentage. Sim ranks 15th in Division I in GAA, and she is 23rd nationally in save percentage. She received her third-career Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week award on Monday after matching a career-high with eight saves in Loyola's playoff-clinching 0-0 draw at Lehigh.

Bayer (Merrick, N.Y./W.C. Mepham) becomes Loyola's first three-time all-conference performer since joining the Patriot League. Previously a second team honoree in 2018 and a first team selection in 2019, she provided the game-winning goal during the second half of a 1-0 road victory at American on April 3. That was her ninth career goal in 41 games at Loyola. Bayer, who also assisted on Tempert's opening strike against Colgate, has started all five games this spring and leads the team with 10 shots.

Rivas (Danville, Calif./Monte Vista) receives her first All-Patriot League recognition. A senior co-captain, she has been another key contributor on Loyola's backline this spring. Rivas has started 4 of 5 games overall, playing in 288 of 290 minutes in the Greyhounds' three shutouts against Bucknell, American and Lehigh. She has made 58 appearances in her collegiate career, earning starts in 39 of those contests.

Loyola and Navy will be squaring off in the Patriot League semifinals for a second-straight season. The Mids advanced 4-3 on penalty kicks following a 1-1 draw last season, and Navy edged out a 1-0 overtime win at Ridley Athletic Complex during the regular season meeting on March 27. Loyola will be looking for its first-ever Patriot League championship appearance, with Wednesday's winner facing either Boston University or Colgate in the conference final on Saturday.
