LEWISBURG, Pa. –
Mark Boran,
Caleb Kelly and
Lily Mead set new individual school records, while Loyola University Maryland added three additional relay program bests to conclude the 2021 season on Day 2 of the Patriot League Challenge meet at Bucknell on Sunday.
Boran broke an 11-year old record in the 200-yard backstroke after completing his preliminary heat in 1:47.00, Kelly reached the NCAA 'B' cut standard with his time of 19.96 in the 50 freestyle final, and Mead led off Loyola's victorious 200 medley relay with a mark of 24.79 in the 50 backstroke.
Mead,
Megan Dickey,
Elizabeth Walsh and
Claire Bowser took down a seven-year old school record while winning the 400 free relay (3:23.80), while Kelly,
Reid Hussey,
Conor Rutigliano and
Jimmy Hayburn shattered the old program mark with their 400 free relay time of 2:57.39. Rutigliano,
Max Verheyen, Hayburn and Kelly began the morning with a school-record time of 1:28.16 in the 200 medley relay.
Overall, the Greyhound men won eight more events on Sunday, finishing the meet with 1274.5 points to easily top Bucknell (802) and American (434.5). The women added four more event victories on Day 2; their two-day score of 994.5 points was just behind first-place Bucknell (1060.5).

Verheyen supplied two of the men's six individual wins, as he topped the field in both the 400 individual medley (3:50.33) and 100 breaststroke (53.77).
Casey Brown (1:47.79) edged out Boran (1:48.03) in the 200 back final, while
Dean Spicer (16:12.72),
Dylan Champagne (16:18.79) and
Tommy Noone (16:22.70) claimed the top three spots in the 1,650 free.
Rutigliano was the other individual victor for the men in the 100 butterfly (48.95).
Sung Lee took ninth in both the 100 fly (48.82) and 200 free (1:39.79), but his winning 'B' final times were both faster than all 'A' final competitors.
Jack Still took second in the 3-meter dive with an evening score of 272.15 points. His preliminary score of 287.5 points in the afternoon was a new season-best. Other runners-up included Hayburn (20.43) in the 50 free, Hussey (3:55.94) in the 400 IM and
Zach Reid (1:40.72) in the 200 free.
Brian Hess added a third-place showing in the 100 breast (56.06).
On the women's side,
Emma Schouten concluded her storied Loyola career by winning the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.05. Schouten, the women's program's first three-time All-Patriot League performer, also teamed with Mead, Walsh and Dickey for a first-place effort in the 200 medley relay (1:43.10).
The Greyhounds had the top two finishers in the 200 back final, as
Lauren Joyce (2:04.66) edged out
Stella Meyerhoeffer (2:04.71) by five-hundredths of a second. Other second place finishers included Mead (54.41) in the 100 fly, Bowser (23.53) in the 50 free and
Anna Donato (224.75 points) in the 1-meter dive.
Abby Andrews touched the line third in the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.84, while
Kylie Preihs took third in the 1,650 free with a mark of 17:44.88.
Loyola set 15 school records overall at the two-day meet, and four Greyhounds combined to reach six NCAA 'B' cut standards.
