Mead, Hussey, Still Earn Patriot League Weekly Swimming & Diving Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The weekly awards continue to pile up for Loyola University Maryland's swimming and diving program, as the Greyhounds received three of the Patriot League's four honors announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.

Lily Mead was selected as the Women's Swimmer of the Week for a fourth time this season, while Reid Hussey (Men's Swimmer) and Jack Still (Men's Diver) each earned their third weekly accolades. The Greyhounds won 28 of 40 events in last weekend's April Pools Invitational Virtual Meet with American, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette and Lehigh.

Mead (Timonium, Md./Delaney) contributed to seven of those event victories while setting three new school records. Her program marks in the 200-yard individual medley (2:00.90) and the 100 backstroke (54.21 leading off the 400 medley relay) are both ranked No. 1 in the Patriot League this season, while she also set a new program best in the 400 IM.

Her 400 IM time of 4:22.91 and her first-place time of 17:22.39 in the 1650 free are both No. 3 in the conference on the year, and she added a season-best and pool record time in the 50 free (23.34) which is fifth in the PL while leading off the 200 free relay. Mead swept her three individual events and contributed to first place 400 medley, 800 free, 200 free and 400 free relays.

Hussey (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) set a new school record during his first-place performance in the 200 butterfly over the weekend. His time of 1:47.80 is sixth overall in the conference this season. He was also the runner-up in both the 200 IM (1:50.75, 11th in the PL) and 200 free (1:42.16), and he contributed to first-place efforts in the 200 free and 400 free relays.

Still (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) was named co-Male Diver of the Meet after winning the 1-meter and taking second in the 3-meter competitions. His 1-meter score of 270.70 points was a new season-best which ranks fourth among Patriot League divers. Along with his score of 228.70 in the 3-meter, Still had the highest combined points total of any diver at the meet.

The Greyhounds return to action next weekend, traveling to Bucknell for a dual beginning at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
