COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America released its Scholar All-America Teams for the Spring 2021 semester on Tuesday, with Loyola University Maryland's women's and men's programs both earning recognition.
Loyola was one of 426 schools across all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA divisions to receive the award. Teams required a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the spring semester to be honored.
The Greyhound women recorded an impressive 3.607 cumulative GPA in the spring, while the men posted a strong overall average of 3.441. Loyola was ranked third overall among Patriot League schools in both genders.
On the women's side,
Anna Donato,
Michelle Lebed,
Maggie Manchester and
Emma Schouten all recorded perfect 4.0 GPA's in the spring, while
Sarah Abril (3.938),
Caroline Arpin (3.938),
Lily Bistline (3.934),
Megan Dickey (3.918),
Kyle Gunzy (3.918), Kyra Kowelewski (3.938) and
Lily Mead (3.938) were all above a 3.90.
Colin Anderson,
Casey Brown,
Jimmy Hayburn,
Brian Hess and
Jack Still all posted 4.0 GPA's for the men, with
Alex Grahor (3.938),
Nick Pacitti (3.934) and
Greg Sifferman (3.938) also finishing above a 3.90.
Nine of the Patriot League's 10 schools had both programs recognized by the national organization. The CSCAA will release individual Scholar All-America selections later this summer.
